Dr. Brian H. Fingado is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Surgery of the Hand. With over two decades of experience in clinical practice, treatment, and medico-legal evaluation, Dr. Fingado offers a rare combination of advanced orthopaedic skill and objective, evidence-based reporting for complex upper extremity injuries.
A native of California, Dr. Fingado earned his undergraduate degree in Physiology and Anatomy from the University of California, Berkeley, before completing his medical degree at the University of California, San Diego. He then completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Yale-New Haven Hospital, followed by a prestigious hand surgery fellowship at the Tufts Combined Hand Surgery Program in Boston—training under internationally respected mentors Dr. Leonard Ruby and Dr. Edward Nalebuff.
Dr. Fingado has served South Florida since 1999 as part of the Holy Cross Orthopaedic Institute, where he continues to care for patients with injuries and conditions involving the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. In addition to his clinical work, he has served as a medical consultant for professional sports organizations including the Florida Marlins, Miami Dolphins, and Baltimore Orioles.
He has held teaching appointments at Yale School of Medicine and Tufts University, and his research has been recognized with honors such as the Donjoy Research Award. His publications appear in respected academic journals and clinical reference texts, and he continues to contribute to professional advisory boards and clinical guidelines.
